GreatCall acquires remote monitoring firm HealthSense

Healthsense uses wireless sensors to monitor everyday living activities like eating, sleeping and movement. It gathers information to establish patterns, evaluate data and enable caregivers to act proactively when they spot changes indicative of the early onset of a negative health event.

San Diego-based GreatCall Inc., a provider of connected health devices for senior citizens, acquired Healthsense, a company that produces passive remote monitoring devices for senior care.

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
