Court Axes Bataan Survivors' Suit
LOS ANGELES - Dealing another blow to the claims of World War II slave laborers, a state appeals court Thursday struck down a suit against Japanese companies by American slave laborers, ruling that the workers' claim is pre-empted by the federal 1951 treaty which formally ended the war years after the fighting had stopped.
