Hooters Franchise Escapes Liability in Holiday-Party Injury

Evan Johnson was seriously hurt in a melee that began after a rowdy guest head-butted the 31-year-old man, who was working at the Clarion Hotel in San Diego where the party was held, says his lawyer, Steven Victor. Partygoers, including allegedly underage revelers, at the Dec. 19, 2000, event consumed large amounts of alcohol, took Ecstasy and snorted cocaine, Victor alleges.
