Superior Court Judge Will Retire After Marking 20 Years on Bench
While the rest of the county was celebrating the New Year, Pittsburg Judge John Allen was looking forward to 2004. Allen, 62, plans to retire from the Contra Costa County Superior Court on Jan. 31, 2004, 20 years to the day from his appointment by Gov. George Deukmejian. Allen says he hopes to do private mediation, though he'll miss the courtroom.
