San Bernardino County has backed off an earlier attempt to sue the city of San Bernardino after leaders reached an agreement over unpaid debts.
The city, currently awaiting a ruling on its bankruptcy petition, owes the county about $2 million in landfill use fees, according to City Attorney James F. Penman. The county has already received its first payment, he said, and is expected to be paid in full in about seven months.
