Former Tesla Motors Inc. General Counsel Eric S. Whitaker has landed a new high-profile legal gig in Silicon Valley.

After leaving the Palo Alto-based electric car company two months ago, Whitaker is now the new senior vice president and chief legal officer of Milpitas-based Sandisk Corp., a company that manufactures flash memory storage products including Secure Digital memory cards popularly known as SD Cards.
