Judge denies pot dispensary evictions

A federal magistrate judge in San Francisco denied landlords' bid to evict marijuana clinics in Oakland and San Jose while lawyers gear up for a challenge to a federal crackdown.

A federal magistrate judge in San Francisco denied landlords' bid to evict medical marijuana clinics in Oakland and San Jose late Monday while lawyers gear up for a challenge to a federal crackdown on pot dispensaries.

U.S. Magistrate Judge Maria Elena-James postponed efforts by the dispensaries' landlords to evict their tenants on the grounds the shops violate federal marijuana laws.
