California's privacy laws mean what they say, regardless of other states' laws, the state Supreme Court made clear Thursday.
In a unanimous ruling, the court ruled that it was not OK for the Georgia representatives of brokerage firm Salomon Smith Barney to record conversations with California clients without their consent.
