Attorney Receives 30-Month Sentence

Donald Yates, who practiced law in San Diego, has been sentenced in federal court to serve 30 months in prison and three years of supervised release related to his previous conviction for bankruptcy fraud and filing a false tax return.

SAN DIEGO - Donald Yates, who practiced law in San Diego, has been sentenced in federal court to serve 30 months in prison and three years of supervised release related to his previous conviction for bankruptcy fraud and filing a false tax return.

Federal Judge Janis L. Sammartino also ordered Yates, 66, to pay more than $192,000 in restitution to the victims of the fraud.
