A clear winner emerged Friday in the combined litigation over unintended acceleration in Toyota vehicles: lawyers from California.

An alliance led by San Francisco's Elizabeth J. Cabraser and Newport Beach's Mark P. Robinson Jr. was the big winner in the race for plaintiffs' steering committee spots for the Toyota multidistrict litigation.
