WASHINGTON - As expected, President Barack Obama announced Monday he will nominate Solicitor General Elena Kagan to replace the retiring Justice John Paul Stevens on the U.S. Supreme Court.
Kagan, 50, was seen as the frontrunner for the position ever since Stevens announced his retirement in April.
