SAN DIEGO - Wal-Mart Stores Inc. will pay $27.6 million to settled charges of hazardous waste violations throughout California. The settlement was signed Monday by San Diego County Superior Court Judge Linda B. Quinn and was billed as one of the largest environmental settlements of its type in U.S. history.
