San Francisco-based Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe is discussing a merger with the elite London-based "silver circle" law firm SJ Berwin, according to London-based media reports. Were Orrick to clinch the deal, it would finally gain the corporate heft in London it has long desired.
An Orrick spokesman declined to shed light on his firm's intentions.
