SAN FRANCISCO - The state Supreme Court on Thursday unanimously reversed the death sentence of a member of the notorious Eight Trey Gangster Crips because Los Angeles Superior Court Judge John P. Shook denied him the right to represent himself at trial after his appointed lawyers failed to show up for his trial.
