Oil Firms Again Liable for MTBE

SAN FRANCISCO - Oil companies may be held legally responsible for failing to warn retailers about the dangers of the chemical additive MTBE and could also face liability for allowing the chemical to leak into underground water sources, a San Francisco judge ruled Tuesday.
