Probation Move Riles Judges

SAN JOSE - The Santa Clara County bench and its Board of Supervisors are going to war over who should run the probation department. The supervisors, stung by a federal probe and ongoing newspaper reports of alleged physical abuse at juvenile hall, voted Tuesday to place a measure on the March ballot wresting control of the probation department from the Superior Court.
