Law firm cannot keep fees due to conflict, appellate court rules

Sheppard Mullin cannot keep $1.3 million in legal fees because of its failure to disclose a conflict, a state appeals court ruled Friday.

Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton LLP cannot keep $1.3 million in legal fees paid out by former client J-M Manufacturing Company Inc. because of the law firm's failure to disclose a client conflict, the 2nd District Court of Appeal ruled Friday.
