Richards D. "Dick" Barger, former state insurance commissioner and co-founder of the insurance law firm Barger & Wolen LLP, died Sunday in Pasadena at the age of 87.

Richards D. "Dick" Barger, former state insurance commissioner and co-founder of the insurance law firm Barger & Wolen LLP, died Sunday in Pasadena at the age of 87.

Barger represented the insurance industry in a career that spanned six decades, both publicly for the state and privately through his own firm, which in 2014 merged with Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP.
