State Bar owed $8.5M from disciplined attorneys

The State Bar has renewed its efforts to collect unpaid costs assessed to 1,300 attorneys who were disciplined.

As the State Bar redoubles its efforts to collect costs assessed to disciplined attorneys, the unpaid tab has risen to $8.5 million owed by 1,300 people.

The outstanding costs stem from State Bar Court cases dating back to 2006, and the attorneys owe an average of $6,538.
