Orange County prosecutors violated the state constitution when they directed 55 of 58 murder cases away from a judge "in obvious retaliation" for unfavorable decisions, according to an appellate brief filed Friday by Erwin P. Chemerinsky and Paul L. Hoffman on behalf of the Orange County Superior Court.
