Working Model

By Leslie A. Gordon Littler Mendelson is not the largest firm on this year's list of San Francisco's Top 20 firms. Nor is it the most profitable. Despite that, it stands above the rest as a one-of-a-kind law firm, where every single one of the 350 attorneys exclusively practices labor and employment law.

Working Model --
With 352 lawyers concentrating on one area of law, Littler Mendelson may well be the largest speciality shop in the country. Pursuing a niche practice has paid off for the labor and employment firm: It earned $124 million in 1998 revenues, 15 percent more than the previous year.
