Court Toughens Review Standard for Jury Selection
SAN FRANCISCO - Making it tougher to prove race or sex discrimination in jury selection, a federal appeals panel ruled Monday that a trial judge is entitled to deference and may be reversed only for "clear error" in finding that a peremptory challenge was not based on race or sex.
