Improving Health Care Requires First Recognizing Its Problems
Forum Column - By Jeffrey A. Gottlieb - The health care affordability crisis can be summed up in two words: unsustainable inflation. Depending on the insurance company and the particular policy, premiums are increasing between 8 percent and 20 percent. Some employers are experiencing premium increases exceeding 50 percent. If the new plans are adjusted for increased out-of-pocket requirements and fewer benefits, the inflation is even higher.
