Wang is Woman of the Year

Karin Wang was honored as the 2011 Woman of the Year for the 49th Assembly District in a ceremony in Sacramento Monday. As vice president of programs and communications at the Asian Pacific American Legal Center, Wang works to open up the legal system to low-income and immigrant communities, and champions for statewide marriage equality. She also ran the first Los Angeles field office of the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services, Office for Civil Rights.
