The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals refused Wednesday to allow same-sex couples to get married while the court considers the constitutionality of California's gay marriage ban.
Proposition 8 challengers asked the court last month to let take effect a district court order striking down the measure. But the 9th Circuit refused to lift its stay.
