Commonwealth Club Celebrates 108th Anniversary
Members of the Bay Area’s legal, business and nonprofit communities convened at the Palace Hotel in San Francisco Tuesday night for the Commonwealth Club of California’s 108th Anniversary and 23rd Annual Distinguished Citizen Award Dinner. The honorees were Mary B. Cranston, immediate past chairwoman, Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP, San Francisco; Janet W. Lamkin, president, Bank of America California; and Tad Taube, president, Koret Foundation and chairman of Taube Philanthropies. The club also awarded the William K. Bowes Jr. Lifetime Achievement Award posthumously to philanthropist L.W. Lane Jr. and former Commonwealth Club board member L. Jay Tenenbaum.
