The Target Corp. has been ordered to pay $22.5 million as part of a settlement for improperly handling hazardous wastes and other materials over a seven-year period.
The judgment resulted from a civil enforcement lawsuit filed in Alameda County two years ago, involving more than 290 Target stores and distribution centers throughout the state.
