Apellate court could reverse dismissal in Ray Charles copyright case

A 9th Circuit panel appeared skeptical that the Ray Charles Foundation has no standing to contest a copyright claim by the soul legend's children.

A federal appellate court on Thursday appeared open to reversing the dismissal of a declaratory relief lawsuit filed by the Ray Charles Foundation against the late soul legend's children over who has claim to Charles' copyrighted song compositions.
