Boy Scouts trial begins

Santa Barbara trial threatens to expose three decades of files on abuse allegations.

A lawsuit seeking to expose the Boy Scouts for neglecting to protect children and report abuse got underway Monday in Santa Barbara County Superior Court. The trial could bring to light 30-plus years of "perversion files" kept by the Boy Scouts from 1971 to 2007.
