LA deputy mayor closing in on U.S. attorney nomination
Eileen M. Decker is the presumptive candidate for the top federal prosecutor position in the Central District, according to sources close to the process. Decker beat out a number of high profile candidates for the U.S. attorney job.

LOS ANGELES - Eileen M. Decker, deputy mayor for public safety and homeland security in Los Angeles, is expected to be nominated to be the next U.S. attorney for the Central District of California, according to multiple sources.
Decker is undergoing a background check, which would likely be the last hurdle before her nomination, according to these sources who spoke on a condition they not be named.
