Judge throws out for now Al Jazeera defenses in secretive DirecTV suit

In a case typified by a lack of information, a Superior Court Judge Tuesday threw out Al Jazeera America's affirmative defenses based on the lack of accompanying evidence.

LOS ANGELES - In an extraordinary move, a judge here has for now thrown out affirmative defenses raised by Al Jazeera America LLC in a delicately guarded breach of contract lawsuit filed by DirecTV LLC .
