Grand Dame of Bench in State Out-Served All

LOS ANGELES - Justice Mildred L. Lillie, the grand dame of the California bench and the longest-serving judge in the history of the Golden State, died Sunday at St. Vincent's Hospital in Los Angeles after a brief illness. She was 87.
