Merger Unites Two Sides of Coal Industry

A lump of coal is a precious commodity, as two newly merged Utah companies can attest. The companies, which extract value from coal in different ways, merged into one last month. Headwaters Inc. acquired privately held Industrial Services Group Inc. in a deal valued at $250 million in cash, stock and debt. The combined company will have headquarters in Draper, Utah.
