LOS ANGELES - Just as Los Angeles officials reveal that mayoral candidates James K. Hahn and Antonio Villaraigosa poured a record $23 million into their race, a state agency today may undo recent efforts by the city to ensure prompt disclosure of the sources and uses of some independent campaign expenditures.
