McGeorge School of Law laid off nine staff members last week, part of a plan to cut the Sacramento school's student body and staff by 40 percent in response to "the unprecedented drop in applications to law schools."

McGeorge School of Law laid off nine staff members last week, part of a plan to cut the Sacramento school's student body and staff by 40 percent.
In a statement Friday, McGeorge Dean Francis J. Mootz III blamed the changes on "the unprecedented drop in applications to law schools across the country."
