Jumping to conclusions regarding same-sex marriage

Re: "Narrow holdings with huge implications for couples," June 27. By Joel Drum

LETTERS TO THE EDITOR COLUMN

While I agree with Dean Erwin Chemerinsky's views on same-sex marriage, I do not believe one can be certain that "there is now no doubt that ultimately the court will hold that" gay marriages must be allowed nationwide. ["Narrow holdings with huge implications for couples," June 27.]

It seems quite possible that this issue will not get to the Supreme Court again until the 2016 term. If a Republican wins the 2016 election...
