Cutting the California bar exam exam down to two days is a good idea. ["Plan to shave bar exam down to two days makes headway," July 2.] It is a bad idea, however, to up the weight of the MBE (Multi State Bar Exam) to 50 percent from the present 35 percent. Yes, I know: the so-called experts assure us that the passage rates will be the same. That is not the point, even assuming that this is true (a big assumption).
