McGuireWoods opens San Francisco office

Virginia-based firm names lateral from Reed Smith as managing partner of new outpost.

Virginia-based McGuireWoods LLP is broadening its footprint in California with the addition of a new office in San Francisco, the firm's third location in the state.

The firm also added a pair of financial services litigators from Reed Smith LLP ? David C. Powell, who will lead the new office, and Mary J. Hackett, who joins the firm's office in Pittsburgh.
