Nearly 30 judgeships to be contested in June election

Last-minute decision not to run by LA County judge causes deadline extension.

The dust has settled in the 29 contested races for superior court judgeships across California, with the exception of one surprise deadline extension in Los Angeles County after incumbent Elden S. Fox unexpectedly pulled out of the running at the last minute.

Los Angeles now has four open seats and just two challenged incumbents with mostly prosecutors jostling for a seat on the bench.
