Same-Sex Marriage Advocates Fight State's Bid to Uphold Ban

SAN FRANCISCO - The state's ban on same-sex marriage creates a "separate but equal fallacy that was repudiated 50 years ago," lawyers for 12 gay couples who wish to legally marry said in an opening appellate brief filed Wednesday with the 1st District Court of Appeal in San Francisco.
