Munger Tolles: UNIVERSAL AGREES TO BUY EMUSIC FOR $26 MILLION
Universal Music Group has agreed to buy Emusic.com Inc. for $26 million in cash. New York's Universal is a subsidiary of Vivendi Universal, a French utility and media firm. Universal is a music company that controls a nearly 30 percent market share of U.S. album sales. Some of the label's popular artists are Sting, Sheryl Crow, Elton John and Eminem.
