Judge Rejects Huge Fee in Smog Refund Litigation
SACRAMENTO - In a stinging defeat for five law firms, a Superior Court judge tentatively ruled Tuesday that the firms are not entitled to $88.5 million in attorney fees for successfully overturning a smog impact fee that the state charged people who registered their out-of-state cars in California.
