ABA Urges U.S. To Stay Out of Gay Marriage

SAN ANTONIO, Texas - The American Bar Association urged the federal government Monday to stay out of the debate over gay marriage. Without controversy, the national legal association's policy-setting body, the House of Delegates, adopted a resolution declaring that the ABA "opposes any federal enactment" that would limit states' freedom to define civil marriage for themselves or that would limit states' abilities to recognize marriages granted by other states.
