The Sage Observer

OAKLAND - Edward Hopper's "Nighthawks" adorns Alameda County Superior Court Judge Philip V. Sarkisian's chambers. Each year Sarkisian buys a new office calendar showing a dozen of Hopper's painterly depictions of bleak loneliness. He likes "Nighthawks" so well he has a copy on his desk and another on a shelf.
