Online Advertising May Lead to Liability Under Foreign Law
Focus Column - Intellectual Property - By John C. Rawls - Despite the bursting of the Internet bubble, e-commerce continues to outpace the economy as a whole. Last year was a record year for online retailers like Amazon.com, eBay and Yahoo.com, each of which reported record revenues and earnings. Internet advertising also has rebounded sharply. PricewaterhouseCoopers reports that Internet advertising revenue in the third quarter of 2003 was $1.745 billion, the highest in two years.
