Oracle Corp. and Google Inc. have reached an "irreconcilable impasse" in negotiations to settle the Java copyright and patent trial that is scheduled to start April 16, according to U.S. Magistrate Judge Paul S. Grewal.
After the parties were unable to resolve the high-stakes case Saturday, Grewal scheduled no further settlement conferences to try to strike a deal.
