Solar company IPO gets cool reception

Petaluma-based solar product manufacturer Enphase Energy Inc. began trading Friday, after slashing its anticipated per share price by nearly half.

Petaluma-based solar product manufacturer Enphase Energy Inc. began trading Friday, after slashing its anticipated per share price by nearly half. The company, an early developer of microinverters for solar systems, has entered the market at a challenging time for solar companies, according to attorneys in the industry.
