U.S. Attorney General Michael Mukasey made a rare appearance before the U.S. Supreme Court on Tuesday as the justices considered whether they should reinstate part of the conviction against an al-Qaida operative who plotted to set off a bomb at Los Angeles International Airport before the millennium.
