Governor signs notification measure, vetoes big box bill

Gov. Gray Davis signed SB 1200 (Poochigian, R-Fresno), the California Business Properties Association-sponsored measure that requires a local agency to incorporate notice procedures to the blind, aged and disabled communities in order to facilitate their participation in any hearings held on a permit for a drive-through facility. This is a clear victory for the disabled and development communities and signals that there will be greater cooperation in the future.
