Santa Clara/San Mateo new home sales plunge

New home sales in Santa Clara and San Mateo counties in the third quarter dropped 16.6 percent to a total of 1,452 units sold, a 289-unit decrease from the second quarter, according to figures supplied by Meyers Group Real Estate Information and Consulting Services.

New home sales in Santa Clara and San Mateo counties in the third quarter dropped 16.6 percent to a total of 1,452 units sold, a 289-unit decrease from the second quarter, according to figures supplied by Meyers Group Real Estate Information and Consulting Services.
The total units sold represent 265 attached units and 1,187 detached homes. While it was a decline from the second quarter, it represents a 14.6 percent improvement over the same time period last year.
